Get Contacted: The Form That Works
Most interested visitors never reach out. Often for easily fixable reasons.
Why Messages Don't Go Through
There are three common reasons: the visitor can't find where to write, they're unsure if they will disturb you, or they don't know what to include in their message. None of these relate to the quality of your work.
Make Contact Obvious
The way to reach you should be visible without searching — at the top of the page as well as the bottom. A convinced visitor in the middle of your gallery shouldn't have to scroll up to write to you.
Ask for the Minimum
Each additional field results in lost messages. A name, an email, and a message: that's enough. Budget, timelines, and project details can be discussed in the follow-up conversation, not in a form.
State What Will Happen
A phrase like "I respond within 48 hours" alleviates hesitation. Also, indicate what you're looking for: "open to publishing projects starting in January" avoids irrelevant messages and reassures those who fit the criteria.
Protect Your Email
Displaying your email plainly exposes it to spam-harvesting bots. A form connects you without revealing your address and keeps a record of each request.
